Surface functionalized slides for microarray applications.
Along with its precision dispensing instruments, services, and solutions, SCIENION provides a selection of microarray consumables. The sciCHIPs can be used to attach biomolecules on top of them. These surface-functionalized glass slides are available with coatings appropriate for the development and production of DNA, protein, and glycan microarrays. They are manufactured from high-quality glass in the format of 75.5 x 25.0 x 1.0 mm, which has an ultra-planar surface and low auto-fluorescence.
The surface functionalization creates a degree of hydrophobicity to obtain in the printing step typical spot diameters between 100-200 µm as typically used in microarray applications.
The sciCHIPs can optionally be provided with labels incl. a barcode and an identification number. They are packed under argon in inert atmospheric boxes to prevent exposure to moisture, each box holding 25 or 5 slides. The sciCHIPs are characterized by a long shelf-life when stored dry, at 4-8°C, and protected from sunlight.
