Biosensors & Wearables

SCIENIONs sciFLEXARRAYERs are used for the development and production of biosensors, which are analytical tools that convert biological responses into electrical signals The core technology is Piezo Dispense Capillaries (PDCs), which can be coated depending on the sample type and enable a non-contact deposition of the droplet.
This application can be used for human and veterinary assays, as well as food and environmental assays.

Biochips

Biochips are miniaturized devices that can perform multiple biological analyses simultaneously (consists of mircroarray or sensors and probes). It can be used for genomics, proteomics, metabolomics, DNA sequencing, gene expression analysis and protein profiling.

Lateral Flow

A lateral flow assay (LFA) is a simple, rapid diagnostic test used to detect the presence or absence of a target substance, such as a virus or biomarker. If the target is present, a visible line appears, indicating a positive result.
SCIENIONs hardware and software enable the development and production of singleplex as well as multiplex lateral flow assay and technologies. sciFLEXARRAYERS are able to print on all kind of strcutured and unstructured membranes.

Drug Delivery

Microneedles are tiny, minimally invasive needles that penetrate the skin’s outer layer. Typically ranging from 25 to 900 micrometers in length, they can enhance the delivery of therapeutics by facilitating better absorption and reducing pain compared to traditional hypodermic needles. Microneedle patches are often designed for easy self-administration, making them a promising technology in areas like vaccine delivery, diabetes management, and cosmetic treatments.

Point of Care Testing

Point-of-care (POC) refers to medical testing or interventions that occur at or near the site of pateint care, rather than in a centralized laboratory. This approach allows for rapid diagnosis and treatment, improving patient outcomes by facilitating timely decision-making.
SCIENIONs non-contact deposition technology enables minituarized multiplex assays and can be flexibly customized in terms of sample and cartridge specifications.

Microfluidics

Microfluidics is the technology of manipu-lating small volumes of fluids, typically in the µL to pL range, using micro-scale channels and devices. It involves the design and fabrication of devices that can control and analyze tiny amounts of liquid, often using channels that are just a few micrometers wide.
