The Challenge

Scaling Precision.

Joanneum Research, a leading applied research centre, required precise and scalable microarray printing in flat-bottom microtiter plates for multiplexed diagnostics. The solution: a modular SCIENION S100 Swing Portal System: S100 units shuttled by conveyor and integrated with a full suite of instruments for fully automated in-plate array manufacturing.

The Solution

Automation in Motion.

A robotic arm fetches and places barcoded plates from climate-controlled stacks.
Camera-guided fiducial recognition aligns plates for micro-scale dispensing accuracy.
Six simultaneous dispensing channels print complex microarray patterns in each well.
Inline QC verifies every droplet’s size and position to ensure manufacturing precision.
Plates are incubated, then shuttled back for additional printing cycles, all without manual intervention.
