Lateral Flow Tests

The versatile membrane material assays have become a very popular test format for rapid point of care diagnostics since the introduction of the lateral flow, or 'dipstick' devices in the mid-1980s. Depending on the sensitivity of the assay, a wide variety of biological samples, including blood, serum, urine, saliva and even sweat or tears, can be tested.

Lateral flow diagnostic devices use membranes as the active media on which biomarkers are printed and the assay then executed. SCIENION sciDROP NANO technology has been designed and optimized to print sensitive biological materials such as antibodies, antigen and DNA onto membranes producing continuous lines ranging in width from 0.5mm to 5mm. The technology has been designed to cater for small to medium throughput requirements.
